a Chat with an Old Friend

Sarah, though she certainly does not look to be anywhere near old enough to merit this phrase, is a travel industry veteran and someone whose brain I want to start picking soon for business ideas and concepts. She started vacavox.com in January of 2012, and been influencing many others with her writing. I coincidentally met her in one of my holiday, so here’s our little chat. make sure to write down her tips!

Me:

Do you travel during winter?

Sarah:

I always travel in winter. I cant stand the cold, so I always run to tropical beach like here. also Flights are cheaper and cities are less crowded in Europe

Me:

Which destinations are popular during winter?

Sarah:

if not traveling for business, winter travel = warm, beaches, sunshine, rum, hammocks. Did I say rum yet? Rum… Rum. Rum.

Me:

What is the coldest destination you’ve traveled to?

Sarah:

Scotland, tough to do anything when the pavements are frozen!

Me:

What do you think are the pros/cons of traveling during winter?

Sarah:

Pros are ability to easily go snowboarding. Cons are problems with air travel when a snowstorm hits – and packing coats/boots!

Me:

Do you take advantage of winter sports when you travel?

Sarah:

I must admit I do not. I don’t like cold/snow. So I avoid it unless I have to for Business

Me:

What is your best advice to other travelers about winter travel?

Sarah:

Bring warm clothes and have a great time no matter what the weather!

Me:

Thanks for your time, enjoy your holiday!

Sarah:

You too!
